2017-18 Game #6/7/8

The Hot Rods continued their dominant play in Games 6, 7 and 8 of the 2017-18 Winter Season, coming away with 2 Wins and an Overtime Loss.

Game #6
The Hot Rods laid a spanking on the Heartbreak Kids 11-1, in a game that was of little meaning due to divisional realignment. The HBKs were moving down a division and this was their last game at this level. The Rods decided to send them out with a bang, led by Hat Tricks from Trevor Buerkert and Tom Hautzinger.

The game got a little chippy at 6-1, with the Hot Rods deciding to let their play speak for them. Hautzinger's hatty came on 3 unassisted goals that have earned him the nicknames "Puck Hog" and "Biscuit Pig".

Game #7
The HRHC went winless for the first time this season in Game #7, losing in a shootout to the Eh Team II. The Hot Rods were able to score 3 in the first period, but let the EH Team back in the game closing out the second with a 4-3 lead. The EH Team scored 2 more in the third to take a 5-4 lead. "BP" came through late in the game with Barlow pulled from the goal, scoring with just 14 seconds left to tie the game 5-5.

The Rods were at a disadvantage in the shootout from the get-go as Keith Pelletier was so deep in thought about the dangle he was going to unleash on the goalie, he forgot to take the puck with him on the attempt. Fortunately, the nice gentlemen in the black and white stripes let him turn back and try again with the puck.

Game #8
The Hot Rods gaot back into the win column in Game #8 this past Friday night, beating the Aces 10-5. Mark Schellenberg led the way with 2 goals and 5 assists, and Kevin Csada picked up a Hat Trick as well. Schellenberg seemed to feel like he had to make up for his twin brother, who was absent from the ice due to a forgotten skate.

Bryan Galambos got the call in goal, finally getting to use the gear he had purchased a while ago but never used. 5 GA is not bad for your first game in net!!!!!

*The Hot Rods next action is Friday, Nov 3rd, 9:00 PM at Scott Seaman vs the Healthy Scratches.*
