NCHL Tier II - Div C Champs

The Hot Rods clinched the NCHL Tier 2 - Div C South Division Championship, beating the Beermen 6-1. The Beer men hit the scoresheet first, but the Hot Rods battled back with 6 unanswered goals. The game was full of highlights, but surprisingly, no goals from Dean Tuttle.

The Hot Rods played the best defensive game of the year on the night they needed it most. And it started with the goaltending. Tayler Delannoy played a solid game in net for the Rods, but the best part of his evening was registering a goal on the scoresheet, the first goal as a goalie in his life. The Beermen were down 4-1 at that point, playing with a net empty late in the game. Tayler made a great save on a shot from the point that bounced into the corner. When the forward for the opposition tried to pass it out to the defenseman, the defenseman missed the pass and the puck slid all the way down the ice and into the net. Tayler was the last one to touch the puck therefore he registered the goal. For his accomplishment, Taylor kept the puck as a keepsake.

Unfortunately, the Rods didn't fair as well in the City Finals, losing each of the first 2 games in the best of 3 series versus the Benders. Great effort by everyone, but came up just short.
