The Hot Rods Hockey Club came away with a victory Thursday night beating Nuclear Winter 6 - 3 in Division 10 South action.
The coaching staff made some
line changes, placing defenseman Marc Delannoy on a forward line so he
could have a better chance at netting his first goal of the season. It didn't take long as Marc
scored early in the first. Tony Schellenberg made it 2-0 in the first
with a great rebound goal. Nuclear Winter came back and tied the Rods at two goals a piece in
the second, but a good shift in the third period netted the Hot Rods two goals to bring the score to 4-2 and they never looked back after
that. Defenseman Andrew McAllister potted two goals on the night which earned him
the "Amateur Stuntman of the Game" Award.
ICE CHIPS...
- McAllister is the first defenseman to earn the coveted ASOTG Award.
- In a post-game interview, Marc Delannoy stated that he hadn't scored a goal in organized hockey since 1987, to which Tom Hautzinger interrupted, "That's longer than I've been alive!!!!"
